I know that I seem like an DA, but I just downloaded some shows to Itunes. It is streaming format. How to change the format to make it not be streaming so that I can play it on my ipod without having to be connected to the internet?

Anyone PLEASE help.

Brian

You can't directly convert the streams to files that you can play on the ipod (to others, yes, I know there is software to record streams and save to files, but that may not be necessary in this case as noted below). Also, note that some shows are stream ONLY (e.g., Grateful Dead soundboards). So nothing I say below is relevant.

Instead of the streams, you need to download the MP3 versions of the shows to be able to play on the IPOD. I download the VBR MP3 files (referred to as "hi fi" on the pages). On many shows there is already a zip file containing just these files. Download, extract the zip file and your done. On others, the zip file does not exist (but I use "downthemall" a firefox extension to automatically download all the vbr.mp3 files from a page.

Once you've downloaded the mp3 files, go to itunes, select add files (or folder), and indicate where these files are located. They'll be added to your itunes and the next time you sync they'll be on your ipod.
